A glypse at new studies related to the brain
An area of the brain that helps people make decisions has been discovered
Researchers have discovered a new area in brain
which apparently helps people to understand if they have made wrong decisions. It is a nerve tissue that is similar in size and shape to a large Brussels sprout that apparently has a decisive role in creating mental flexibility that allows humans to choose a promising course of action.
More in the decision-making process
Several parts are involved in the decision-making process of the brain; however, while other parts of the brain estimate how good or bad the decisions we made were, The function of the area discovered by the researchers is to examine the various options of action that are before us and to provide an answer to the question: What could we have done differently?
The researchers identified the area in the brain using brain scans done on healthy people using two different methods
Similar scans performed in monkeys did not locate corresponding areas in them, which may indicate that this is a part that is unique to humans
"We know there are differences between humans and apes. Yet it is surprising that while there are many similarities between us, a small number of differences make our behavior so different from theirs," said Matthew Rushworth, the lecturer who chaired theResearch at the University of Oxfordd
